Tebo Franklin: Nasarawa United defender joins BK Hacken for rest of season

Nasarawa United defender Tebo Franklin has joined Swedish club BK Hacken for the rest of the season, with the Allsvenskan club having the obligation to hand the player a four-year deal if certain conditions are met.
Scouted during a tournament organized by Tiki Taka Academy, Tebo was one of the key figures in Nasarawa United’s Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.
The Anambra-born player, 21, was named in the Nigeria squad for the friendly against Mexico in July, and made his debut for the three-time African champions in the game, replacing Adeleke Adekunle in the 66th minute.
He helped Nasarawa United finish fourth in the league and reach the final of the Aiteo Cup, which comes up on Sunday.

BK Hacken sports director Martin Ericsson, reacting to his club’s acquisition of the centre-back, said: “Franklin has a very good physique with both flexibility, strength and speed – qualities that give him good conditions to become a very good midfielder. Now, we get the chance to see him in place in our environment, which feels exciting. Hopefully, he can meet our expectations and we can exercise the option we have.”
Hacken sit eighth in the Allsvenskan table and have conceded 18 goals in 13 matches.
They are hoping the capture of Franklin would help turn around their fortunes.
Franklin, who represented FC Abuja in 2019, trained with Hacken’s squad and Saturday, and could make his debut for the club against Ostersunds on Sunday.
