Ortega Deniran named new Warri Wolves head coach

Warri Wolves have announced the appointment of Ortega Denira as their new head coach.
Wolves have been without a substantive head coach since dismissing Evans Ogenyi in March after a dismal run.
Following Ogenyi’s departure, Paul Offor was named as the interim boss, but he and his assistants were “asked to step aside” after Sunday’s embarrassing 2-0 home loss to MFM.
And barely 48 hours after parting company with Offor, the Seasiders confirmed that Deniran — who holds a UEFA A license — will lead the club for the rest of the season.

“I’m happy to inform you that we’ve got one (a new head coach). As a matter of fact, he has assumed work today (Wednesday, May 19),” Wolves chairman, Moses Etu, said.

Deniran, 34, took charge of his first training session as Wolves boss on Wednesday, and will be in charge during Sunday’s tie against Adamawa United.
Despite not leading an NPFL side before, Deniran surely has Nigerian top-flight coaching experience, having worked under Paul Aigbogun at Enyimba in 2019.
