NPFL Transfer News: Ifeanyi Eze joins Kano Pillars on loan for the rest of the season

Akwa United winger Ifeanyi Eze has joined Kano Pillars on loan for the remainder of the season.
Eze moves to the four-time Nigerian champions after struggling for game time at the Uyo club.
The left-footed player has been included in Akwa United’s matchday squad only once since the season kicked off.
He has played only one league match for the two-time Aiteo Cup winners since February 2020 — the 1-0 loss at Enugu Rangers on January 3, which he featured for 30 minutes.
After signing for the Promise Keepers from FC Ifeanyi Ubah in January 2020, Eze made four straight starts for the Uyo club, but fell down the pecking order afterwards as Kennedy Boboye — who took over from John Obuh in December 2019 — started exerting his influence on the team.
Boboye, whose side sit third in the standings — just a point off the pace — despite having a game in hand, has relied on experienced forwards Ikechukwu Nwani, Ndifreke Effiong and Mfon Udoh.
His seeming lack of faith in younger strikers has also forced Uche Sebastian, who moved to the Nest of Champions at the beginning of the season, to leave the club.
Uche, like Eze, has penned a deal that will see him play for Sai Masu Gida for the rest of the season.
