Paul Onuachu celebrates with Junya Ito after the Japan forward set him up to score Genk’s first goal in the 5-1 win against Cercle Brugge on 28 November 2020

Paul Onuachu moved to the top of the scoring chart in Jupiler Pro League after netting a brace in Genk’s 5-1 win at Cercle Brugge on Saturday.
The brace took the striker’s tally to 12 goals in 13 Jupiler Pro League matches this season — two goals clear of nearest rival, Beerschot’s Raphael Holzhauser.
Despite struggling with his national team, Onuachu flourished under Jess Thorup, who left for FC Copenhagen after just three months in charge.
And under new manager Van den Brom, the 26-year-old has not shown any signs of slowing down, having scored three goals in two matches since the Dutch tactician took over from Thorup.
The Nigeria forward’s performances in Belgium has attracted interest from clubs across Europe.
