Ini Umotong continues fine goalscoring run as Växjö beat Pitea to keep survival hopes alive

Ini Umotong continued her brilliant goalscoring form by scoring the only goal in Växjö’s 1-0 win against fellow relegation-battlers Pitea IFF, who featured Umotong’s international team-mate Faith Ikhidi .
The Nigeria women’s team star scored in the 12th minute, tucking a loose ball past Guro Pettersen at the near post after the visitors failed to clear their lines.
The goal took her Damallsvenskan tally to two and three in all competitions — and extended her scoring streak to three games..
Umotong opened her Damallsvenskan goals account last week, scoring in the 2-1 loss at Djurgarden.
She followed that up with another strike in Wednesday’s Svenska Cupen 3-1 win at Kalmar.
 

Umotong, 26, was in action for 76 minutes, but her international team-mate Faith Ikhidi played the entirety of the match.
