Super Eagles watch: Anthony Nwakaeme nets two, provides one as Trabzonspor inflict heavy defeat on Kasimpasa

Anthony Nwakaeme grabbed a brace and made an assist in Trabzonspor’s 6-0 humiliation of Kasimpasa at Stadyumu on Sunday.
The striker, quite often overlooked by Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr, netted his side’s third and fifth goals, as Hüseyin Çimşir’s team extended their winning run to six matches in all competitions.
Norway forward Alexander Sorloth, 24, moved to the top of the Süper Lig scorers’ chart, after netting a hat-trick in the game — but it was the Nigerian that stole the show with two stunning goals and a brilliant assist.
Three goals in the space of four minutes gave the home side a 3-0 lead before the break — with Argentina midfielder Jose Sosa opening the scoring with a freekick in the 25th, before Sorloth rose to head home from close range and Nwakaeme curled in from just outside the box.
Ten minutes after the break, Nwakaeme, 30, set up Sorloth with a square pass to score the fourth.
In the 83rd minute, Nwakaeme curled into the top corner after receiving a pass from Joao Pereira to take his league tally to seven for the season.
And with two minutes of normal time left, Sorloth put the icing on the cake with a close range-header.
Nwakaeme’s compatriot and retired Mikel Obi also featured for played the Blacksea Storm. Both players were in action for the entirety of the game.
