CITY STRIKER AGUERO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER FAINTING AT HALF-TIME DURING NIGERIA FRIENDLY

Argentina forward Sergio Aguero is a major doubt for Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Kelechi Iheanacho’s Leicester City on Saturday after fainting during the half-time interval of Argentina’s friendly against Nigeria.
The former Athletico Madrid player scored in the shock 4-2 defeat at Krasnodar’s Stadium in Russia but failed to come out for the second half and was replaced by Dario Benedetto.
Aguero, 29, who resumed playing this month after recovering from broken ribs, was taken to hospital for checks after his collapse in the dressing room.
The Argentinian Football Federation stated in a Twitter post: “(Aguero medical bulletin) He fainted and was therefore transferred to carry out routine checks just as a precaution.”
According to reports, City -who play Leicester on Saturday – are awaiting medical reports before the striker returns to England.
Ever Banega put the south Americans in front after goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi gave away a freekick and Aguero doubled the lead with a tap-in, but Kelechi Iheanacho curled a freekick into the top corner to give his side hope before the break.
Alex Iwobi levelled the scores early in the second-half off Iheanacho’s assist, debutant Brian Idowu put Nigeria in front for the first time on the evening, and Iwobi got his second of the game to complete the turnaround.
