Nigeria international Odion Ighalo scored either side of half time to earn Changchun Yatai a 2-1 win over leaders Shanghai SIPG in a Chinese Super League game on Sunday.
The brace increased the former Watford striker’s goal tally to seven for the season.
Ighalo raced on to a through ball before placing a shot beyond the SIPG goalkeeper, and then coolly controlled a pass before firing in from the penalty area.
Last week, Ighalo made history in the Chinese Super League, when he scored four goals in Yatai’s 5-2 win at Guizhou Hengfeng — becoming the 11th player to achieve the feat in a match.
The win pulled Yatai further clear of relegation danger — into 10th position.
