KAYODE: GIRONA IS THE RIGHT PLACE FOR ME TO GROW

Girona and Nigeria international forward, Olanrewaju Kayode, who is on a season-long loan from Manchester City has promised to churn out scintillating performances and score goals for the La Liga debutant.

The 24-year old striker, was unveiled by the newly promoted side on Tuesday, despite making his debut on Saturday in a pulsating 2-2 home draw against Atletico Madrid on Saturday. 
Kayode who nearly scored on his debut, only for Slovenian shotstopper, Jan Oblak to make a dying minute save to deny his 93rd minute header, believes the blanquivermell is the best place for him to grow.
“I feel that I have arrived at my best and the right place to grow. I came to learn a lot this year and I hope to score many goals. 
“The Girona are a great team and I want to prove my worth to try to take the team to the highest positions in the standings” he said.
The former Austria Wien striker, who started from the bench on saturday, said he will adapt to Pablo Machin’s 3-5-2 system to achieve his goals. 
“Everybody knows that the Spanish league is one of the best in the world, but if you are a good player, you adapt wherever you go to get your goals. 
“I hope to play a good role and here we will all strive to achieve great success. In addition, we have a large squad. he concluded ”
Kayode who is not included in Coach Gernot Rohr’s 23-man squad to face Cameroon in the upcoming World Cup qualifying ties, will be hoping for a starting berth when Girona host Malaga on Saturday, August 25, in a La  Liga Santander matchday two fixture at the Municipal Montilivi by 7:15pm (Nigeria Time).
