​ALHASSAN: SUPER EAGLES CALL-UP IS "A MASSIVE ACHEVEMENT" 

Akwa United midfielder Ibrahim Alhassan has expressed his delight at being called up to the Nigeria squad for the first time.
The player was rewarded for his remarkable club form with a first call-up to the Nigeria training squad in France last month- and made his debut against Corsica on May 26.
After taking part in Super Eagles’ training session on Tuesday, the midfielder told 234football: “I feel great. It was really good for me to be invited and finally make the team to play against South Africa. It is a massive achievement for me, my family and Akwa United.”
Since moving to Akwa United from Wikki Tourists at the start of the season, Alhassan, 20, has enjoyed a good run of form, which has seen him score 10 goals in 17 league matches.
Recent reports have linked the 6’5″ player with a move away from Nigeria. The former U20 international said he does not know where he’d be next season, but admitted he’s looking forward to joining a European club in the nearest future.
“You know, the aim of every player playing in Nigeria is to play abroad, in one of the European countries. So, I’m not an exception. I have that in my mind and I’m working hard towards it, but I don’t know what the future holds.”
The Nigeria squad arrived Uyo on Monday, and had their first training session at the training pitch of the Akwa Ibom international Stadium, Uyo on Tuesday.
Coach Gernot Rohr supervised the training session which featured 21 players.
Nigeria will square up against South Africa in a 2019 AFCON Qualifier at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.
