Victor Osimhen continues fine scoring run as Napoli beat Cagliari

Victor Osimhen stretched his scoring streak to four matches with a goal in Napoli’s 2-0 victory over Cagliari at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.
Goals by the Nigerian and captain Lorenzo Insigne helped Napoli maintain their perfect start to the Serie A season and stay top of the table.
Barely 11 minutes into the game, Osimhen swept home Piotr Zielinski’s nice cutback to give Luciano Spalletti’s side the lead, taking his Serie A tally to four for the season and six across all competitions.
Insigne, who was making his 400th appearance for the club, grabbed the second in the 57th minute.
Referee Marco Piccinini awarded Napoli a penalty after Diego Godin tripped Osimhen in the area, and Insigne stepped up to send the spot-kick into the back of the net.
Both scorers were, in the 77th minute, taken off by Spalletti — who will now turn his attention to Thursday’s Europa League fixture against Spartak Moscow.
