Simeon Nwankwo climbs up Serie A goalscoring charts with brace in Crotone’s win at Parma
Simeon Nwankwo moved up to third in the Serie A goalscoring charts after netting a brace to help Crotone claim a 4-3 win against fellow bottom-three side Parma at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
The brace took the Nigerian’s league tally to 19 for the season and 12 in the last nine matches for The Sharks.
Before the fixture, Nwankwo was fourth in the charts — behind Atalanta’s Luis Muriel, Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, he’s now a goal clear of Muriel — just two behind Lukaku and six adrift of top scorer Ronaldo.

Nwankwo scored his first of the evening on 42 minutes to restore his side’s lead after Hernani had cancelled out Lisandro Magallan’s opener — and Adam Ounas doubled the visitors’ advantage just before the break.
Substitute Gervinho and Valentin Mihaila then scored within five minutes of each other to level things up, but Nwankwo netted again — this time from the spot — to secure the Calabria side a fifth win of the season.
Despite the victory, Serse Cosmi’s team are still rooted to the bottom of the table.
And with just five round of games left to play, they are 13 points away from safety — which means that it’s near impossible for them to survive the drop.
Should Crotone drop to Serie B at the end of the season, it looks likely that Nwankwo would leave Stadio Ezio Scida.
Already, reports in Italy have linked the 28-year-old with a move to Milan clubd, Inter and AC Milan, as well as Juventus.
