Napoli star Victor Osimhen and Rangers’ Joe Aribo return as Gernot Rohr leaves out Paul Onuachu from AFCON qualifiers double header

Gernot Rohr has selected a 24-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, back-to-back games against Sierra Leone.
Napoli new signing Victor Osimhen is back in the team after missing the friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia due to travel restrictions in Capania, where Napoli are based.
Joe Aribo, Daniel Akpeyi and Oghenekaro Etebo, who were all left out of the Algeria and Tunisia games because of injuries, also return to the team.
Club Brugge winger Emmanuel Dennis earns his first call-up in over a year.
All but seven of those who were in the squad for the test games against the north African countries this month have been called up for the games against the Leone Stars.
Samuel Kalu has been omitted due to injury, while Genk stars Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers have been overlooked by Rohr.
The German gaffer has also left out goalkeepers Dele Alampasu and Matthew Yakubu, as well as Mikel Agu and Samson Tijani, who were all in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s friendlies in Austria.
Nigeria lead Group L with six points — three points clear of second-placed Benin — following wins against Benin and Lesotho.
The three-time AFCON champions will host Sierra Leone in Benin City on November 13 before traveling to Freetown for the reverse fixture four days later.
