Oghenekaro Etebo joins Galatasaray on loan
Super Eagles star Oghenekaro Etebo has moved to Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal from Stoke City.
Just back from a loan stint at Getafe, Etebo will represent Galatasaray in the 2020-21 season.
The Turkish giants are understood to have paid a loan fee of €675,000 to acquire the Nigerian for the season.
The 24-year-old moved to Europe in 2016, signing for Portuguese club Feirense from Warri Wolves on January 17 of that year.
The following winter transfer window, he made a loan switch to Spanish outfit Las Palmas.
After a six-month loan spell at the Canary Islands club, Etebo moved to Stoke City — on July 1, 2018 — in a €7.2m move.
In January 2020, penned a six-month loan contract with Getafe. The deal was due to expire on June 30, but with the coronavirus pandemic causing the season to extend beyond June, the World Cup star extended his stay at the club — only returning to Stoke City on August 10.
During his Getafe loan stint, the midfielder — now valued at €4m — scored one goal in ten La Liga appearances.
