Oghenekaro Etebo scores first Getafe goal

Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo netted his first goal in the colours of Getafe to earn José Bordalás’ side a 1-1 draw against Eibar at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Saturday.
On the half-hour mark, the 24-year-old fired a first-time effort from 12 yards past goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez and into the back of the net after being found by Angel Rodriguez’s pass, to put his side in front.
Etebo joined the Spanish club on loan from English side Stoke City in January.
He played seven games — including six in the league — for the club before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After making five consecutive starts — including in games against Barcelona and Sevilla — the Olympic bronze medalist failed to earn a place in the starting XI for the tie against Espanyol, which ended goalless.

However, he was back to the starting lineup on Saturday — and Bordalás’ decision to return the midfielder to the starting XI paid off, as the former Warri Wolves talisman put them in front with a low shot.
The visitors, though, went into the break level, after Brazilian forward Charles headed in from close range six minutes into the first-half stoppage time.
And late on, Eibar thought they had won the La Liga fixture when Pedro Bigas nodded in Pape Diop’s lofted pass, but their celebrations were cut short by a VAR review.
The hosts managed to secure the draw and move up fifth in the table.
