Kano Pillars suspend Ifeanyi Nweke over “unruly behavior”

Kano Pillars have suspended defender Ifeanyi Nweke indefinitely after “his unruly behavior and indiscipline attitude” at the club’s secretariat on Monday.
The Nigeria international is banned from training and playing for the Nigeria Professional Football club while suspended.
Also, his salary will be docked by 50 per cent during the period of suspension.
The club announced on their website: “The management of Nigeria Professional Football League outfits, Kano FC have suspended its player, Ifeanyi Nweke indefinitely with an effect from Monday 13th January, 2020.
“According to a statement signed by the Secretary of the four-time NPFL champions, Sayyadi Abdullahi, said the player was suspended for his unruly behavior and indiscipline attitude he shown at the club’s Secretariat on Monday morning.”
Nweke could not be reached for a response on the matter, but a Pillars insider told 234football that an altercation ensued between the player and Pillars secretary Sayyadi Abdullahi at the club’s office after Nweke demanded for clearance to leave the club.
The 22-year-old is said to be keen on a move away from Masu Gida — but Pillars who have picked just three wins in 12 league games this season — are resisting overtures from a number of NPFL clubs for the right-back, who joined the club in 2016.
