Usman Ab’dallah axed as Enyimba head coach after disastrous run

Enyimba have announced that they have parted company with head coach Usman Ab’dallah.
The Kano-born gaffer has been sacked following a string of poor results and underwhelming performances, culminating in Sunday’s heavy defeat at Plateau United.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Enyimba Football Club can announce today that Coach Usman Ab’dallah has been of his duties as Technical Adviser with immediate effect.”
Ab’dallah took over from Paul Aigbogun in July 2018, and led the Aba club to Nigeria Professional Football League title last year.
However, he failed to secure the two-time Champions League winners a place in the group stage of the Champions League, with the team dropping to the Confederation Cup, where they’ve found themselves in third position with three points after three matches.
In all competitions, the People’s Elephant are winless in five matches.
Assistant coach Fatai Osho will take charge of the team on a temporary basis.
The former Remo Stars gaffer will kick off his reign as Enyimba caretaker coach on Wednesday, as his side welcome Kwara United.
