EKPO DELIGHTED TO SIGN FOR AKWA
Daniel Ekpo has spoken of his pleasure at signing for home town club Akwa United.
The 22-year-old winger moved to the Promise Keepers after struggling to get game time under Stanley Eguma at Rivers United.
“It’s a dream come true,” he told 234football.
“For a long time, I’ve been praying and hoping for a move to this club (Akwa United).
” I love everything here. It’s a big club with big ambition.”
The Yobo FC alumnus also revealed that he has been receiving mentoring from the established players at the Aiteo Cup winners — who begin their 2017/18 campaign with a fixture against Enugu Rangers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday — and believes that has helped improve his game.
“The big players in the team, particularly Kelly Kester, have been talking to me; they’ve been encouraging me, and that has helped me become a better player.”
Meanwhile, two of the players recently unveiled by Adbul Maikaba’s side — Gabriel Wassa and Etboy Akpan — will miss tomorrow’s game through injury.
