NIGERIA TO PLAY ENGLAND IN JUNE

Nigeria will face England at Wembley Stadium on June 2.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced on Wednesday that the Super Eagles will take on the English side  in their final friendly before the World Cup.

Both teams have qualified for Russia 2018 and England coach Gareth Southgate believes the game against the Super Eagles will set up his players for their World Cup opening game on June 18 against Tunisia in Volgograd.
Southgate said: “We’ve mostly played European opposition up to now and the Brazil game acted as a reminder that we need to challenge ourselves in different ways as a team.
“We’re going into a World Cup where we will play African and Central American opposition so we get that with the games against Nigeria and Costa Rica.
The two teams have only met twice, with the first — a friendly at Wembley on November 16, 1994 — ending 1-0 in favour of  England; and the second, in a 2002 World Cup group game finishing goalless.
