ORDEGA JOINS ATHLETICO MADRID

Nigeria international Francisca Ordega has signed for Athletico Madrid‘s Women from National Women’s Soccer League side Washington Spirit.
The World Cup star penned an off-season loan deal with the Spanish side after completing a medical.
According to an official statement, the deal will keep the winger at the Spanish club till March 2018.
The 24-year-old, who will return to Spirit ahead of the start of the 2018 season, signed a similar deal with Australlian side Sydney FC in February 2016.
Ordega spoke of her delight at joining Las Colchoneras.
“For me, it is an honor and I am very happy to be here. Atletico Madrid is a great club, internationally recognized, and I really want to start,” she told the club’s website.
