ARSENAL START TALKS OVER ONYEKURU TRANSFER

Arsenal have opened negotiations with KAS Eupen over a deal for Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru.
Onyekuru caught the eye of a number of Europe’s clubs last season by putting in a series of impressive performances and finishing as top scorer in the Belgian topflight.
The 19-year-old is known to be a big admirer of Arsenal. Last year, he told the Belgian media he’d be keen to move to the London club.
According to reports from England, the Nigerian’s wish may soon become a reality.
Sky Sports reports that the forward’s representatives have said the player wants to move to England and discussions with two unnamed clubs were understood to be progressing recently.
Sources close to the player said they were confident the forward would play in the Premier League next season.
It seems the Gunners are now favorites to capture the Aspire Academy product.
Onyekuru, who has a £6.8m release clause in his contract, has already rejected moves to Belgian giants Brugge and Anderlecht.
In january, Celtic reportedly came close to signing him but Eupen turned down a deal.
Onyekuru scored 23 goals in the Jupiler Pro League (12 goals in the regular season and 11 in the playoffs).
He made his Eupen debut in 2015 as a 17-year-old and helped the club gain promotion to the Belgian top flight.
