Simeon Nwankwo scores as Crotone secure first point of the season

Simeon Nwankwo scored his second goal of the season as Crotone claimed their first point of the Serie A campaign with a 1-1 draw against champions Juventus at home.
Crotone — who went into the game bottom of the log — took the lead within 12 minutes of kickoff.
Nwankwo put Crotone ahead, sending goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon the wrong way from the penalty spot after Leonardo Bonucci was adjudged to have committed a could.
Alvaro Morata pulled Juventus level with a tap-in after debutant Federico Chiesa — who was later sent off following a straight red card — squared the ball to him.
On 63 minutes, Crotone went close to going behind for the first time in the game when Morata connected with a cross. The former Chelsea man was denied by the upright before Alex Cordax collected the rebound.
With 14 minutes left to play, Morata found the back of the net again when he turned in Juan Cuadrado’s low cross — but Juventus’ celebrations were cut short the VAR, who spotted an offside in the build-up.
Crotone defended well in the closing stages to secure the point.
