Two players — Venezia’s Tyronne Ebuehi and Paderbon defender Jamilu Collins did not travel with the team. The duo will join up with the rest of the team later.
Odion Ighalo, it has been confirmed, will not participate in the tournament, following the refusal of his Saudi club Al Shabab to release the star forward for the biennial competition, which will kick off on Sunday.

Ighalo, top scorer at the 2019 AFCON, is reportedly set to be replaced by Salernitana striker Simeon Nwankwo.
Nigeria will get their campaign underway with a potentially-feisty fixture against seven-time winners Egypt on Tuesday, square up against Sudan on January 15, and play Guinea-Bissau, four days later.
The team is scheduled to hold their first training on Thursday evening, at Thursday, at Stade Roumdé Adjia.
