Watford 3 Aston Villa 2: Emmanuel Dennis makes dream Premier League debut

Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis started his Premier League career in brilliant fashion as he scored one and set up another to help newly-promoted Watford beat Aston Villa 3-2 at Vicarage Road Stadium.
Named alongside his international team-mates — William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo — Dennis needed just 10 minutes to find the back of the net.
Dennis — given the nod ahead of club legend Troy Deeney — scored to open the scoring for the Hornets, becoming the fourth Nigerian — after John Utaka, Osaze Odemwingie and Odion Ighalo — to score on his Premier League debut.
Receiving a pass from Ismaila Sarr inside the area, the signing from Club Brugge made a goalscoring attempt but saw his shot blocked by Ezri Konsa The rebound, though, fell kindly to the 23-year-old who beat goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez with a low shot.
In the 42nd minute, Sarr double the lead with a deflected strike after receiving a pass from Dennis, whose involvement ended six minutes after the hour mark.
Columbia star Cucho Hernandez — on for the injured Dennis — curled into the bottom corner to increase the advantage to 3-0 seconds after coming on but three minutes later, John McGinn pulled one back with a delightful first-time shot.
And seven minutes into stoppage time, Aston Villa netted their second of the game through Danny Ings’ penalty, but Watford survived the late scare to seal victory.
