Rivers Angels secure Champions League qualification with win over Amis du Monde

Nigerian champions Rivers Angels are through to the finals of the inaugural edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League after beating Togolese side Amis du Monde in the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B Championship at Robert Champroux Stadium, Abidjan.
Maryann Ezenagu’s brace and goals from Abiodun Deborah, Damilola Koku and Cynthia Aku secured a 5-1 victory for Edwin Okon’s against the Togolese team.

The win also earns the Port Harcourt club a place in the final of the WAFU B Championship, where they will face Ghanaian side Hasaacas — whom they had beaten 2-0 in the group stages.
To reach the final, Hasaacas defeated Burkinababe champions USFA 2-0 in the other semi-final match.
The final will hold on Thursday, while the Champions League will be held in Egypt later in the year.
