After sitting out the Latvia Virsliga games against Metta and Riga, the Nigerian was selected to start in the second round tie against the Norwegian side.
The Super Eagles invitee could not make the most of the opportunity, letting in five against the Norwegian side.
Ventspils took the lead in the fifth minute through Yevgeny Kozlov, who latched onto a through ball before firing past goalkeeper André Hansen.
But Rosenborg responded ten minutes later, with Dino Islamovic scoring from the spot after Adegbenro won a penalty.
In the 37th minute, Rosenborg took a 2-1 lead after the former Nigeria U17 team player failed to stop Anders Konradsen’s seemingly weak 22m effort.
Islamovic ensured the Norwegian team took a two-goal advantage into the half-time break, heading down a cross before firing in through Alampasu’s legs in first-half stoppage time.
Ventspils, who brought on former Akwa United striker Christian Pyagbara early in the second half, were cut to ten men on 64 minutes after Dmitrijs Litvinskis fouled Islamovic, who looked certain to threaten Alampasu.
Carlo Holse curled in the resultant freekick past the wall and into the back of the net to give the 26-time Norwegian champions a 4-1 lead.
Rosenborg were not finished, as they added another seven minutes later, with Kristoffer Zachariassen finishing from close range.
With the win, Rosenborg advance to the third qualifying round, where they will face Alanyaspor in a week’s time.
Alampasu has a clean sheet in eight games in all competitions for Ventspils since his transfer from CD Feirense in February
