Nigeria line up Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia friendlies

Nigeria will play two friendlies in October — against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia.
Both games will be held in Austria, according to the Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick.
Gernot Rohr’s men will face fellow west African side Cote d’Ivoire on October 9 and 2004 Africa Cup of Nations winners Tunisia four days later.
The tie against Cote d’Ivoire will be the Super Eagles’ first match since the AFCON Qualifier at Lesotho on 17 November 2019, which ended 4-2 in their favour.
It’ll also be second time Nigeria would face another nation on a neutral ground in less than a year, having taken on Brazil on 13 October 2019 in Singapore.
Pinnick said Austria was picked for the friendlies “due to the COVID-19 protocols presently in place and the proximity of the bulk of our team as well”.
The NFF boss also revealed that the three teams would jointly bear the costs of putting up the friendlies.
