CAF Confederartion Cup: Paradou AC are “beatable”, says Austin Oladapo

Enyimba central midfielder, Austin Oladapo, believes his side can claim a vital win against Paradou AC in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup matchday three tie.
Usman Ab’dallah’s men, who sit second in group D after two rounds of matches, will be looking to avoid defeat at Stade Mustapha Tchaker.
A win for the Aba side would help them maintain second spot, or go level on points with leaders Hassanir Agadir, if the Moroccan side lose at Ivorian club San Pedro.
Oladapo, 24, acknowledges the significance of the fixture and thinks the Peoples’ Elephant stand a good chance against the Algerian outfit.
“The game is important to us since we are in second place with three points, and a win or draw will get us six or four points and will also reduce our opponents’ advantage and increase our chances of qualification to the next round,” he said.
“I think they (Paradou) are beatable at home, but it’s not going to be easy. After losing their last CAF Confederation Cup game at home (2-0 to Moroccan side Hassanir Agadir), they will want to prove a point; and to overcome them, we have to work very hard to make sure we get a point or beat them.”
Coach Ab’dallah added: “A good result over there will really help us in the qualifying because any kind of result that is positive to us — either win or draw — will still go a long way.
“If it is a win, we almost seal qualification. And if it is a draw, it will slow them [Hassanir Agadir] down from getting more points to give us completion. So, whatever the result would be — except losing — we need to get something out of there. We need to bag the three points or at least get a draw. It will really help us. That’s the mindset, that’s what we’re going there for,” he concluded.
