SUPER EAGLES WATCH: SIMON EARNS HEROES STATUS WITH STRIKE AGAINST ANDERLECHT

Moses Simon helped Gent edge closer to securing European football for next season, scoring the only goal in the Buffaloes’ final home game of the Jupiler League Playoff 1, against Anderlecht.

Roman Yaremchuk raced down the left before picking out the run of the winger at the far post, and the Nigerian fired a first-time shot into the bottom corner for his sixth league goal of the season.

His international team-mate, Anderson Esiti, was also in action for the hosts; while the other Nigerian at the club, Samuel Kalu, missed the game through injury.
Fit-again Henry Onyekuru, for the second game in a row, was named on the Anderlecht bench.
Gent travel to table-topping, Emmanuel Dennis’ Club Brugge on Sunday for their last game of the campaign.
