SUPER EAGLES WATCH: KAYODE NETS THIRD SHAKHTAR GOAL

Nigeria International, Olanrewaju Kayode earned a hero status on Friday as he scored the only goal to gift Shakhtar Donetsk a vital three points in the Ukrainian Premier League’s Donbass derby against Mariupol at Illichivets Stadium.
The 27-year-old was gifted a second consecutive start by Coach Paulo Fonseca, and he made the most of it — controlling Ismaily’s pass in the penalty area, beating a defender, before powering beyond goalkeeper Yevgen Galchuk and into the far post in the 65th minute.
The former Austria Vienna forward praised his club’s coach for establishing an ‘effective’ style.
”Paulo Fonseca is one of the best coaches, he developed an effective playing system that really works,” Kayode who ran to the coach after scoring the goal said.
“I think we deserved this victory because we fought together.
“My major contribution is not so much the number of goals, but the quality I deliver. I’m a team player, and when I get a chance, I utilize it,” he said.
Kayode has now netted thrice in six games in all competitions since joining the miners in January — including a goal on his debut, in the 3-0 win over Zorya Luhansk on April 1, and another in the Ukraine 🇺🇦 Cup semi-final against Mariupol on Wednesday,  April 18.
