AJAYI SET TO MISS POLAND FRIENDLY
Al Ahly forward Junior Ajayi looks set to miss Nigeria’s upcoming friendly against Poland due to visa difficulties.
The Super Eagles will start their preparations for the World Cup with a friendly against Poland in Wroclaw on Friday, before facing Serbia four days later at The Hive, London.
Nigeria, though, will be without Ajayi — one of the 28 players invited by Gernot Rohr for the two friendlies — in the game against Poland, as the Olympic star has encountered visa hitches.
The 22-year-old was in line to make his first international appearance on Friday but as things have turned out, the debut would be delayed.
However, according to Egypt outlet Kingfut, the attacker’s first international cap could come next week, as he is expected to obtain a fast-route visa to travel to London for the second friendly game, against Serbia four days after the clash with Poland.
Ajayi won the ‘Best Foreign Player’ award in the Egyptian topflight last season after helping Al Ahly win the league, Cup and Super Cup. He also led the team to a silver medal in the 2016/17 CAF Champions League.
