MASSIVE INJURY BOOST FOR AKWA UNITED AS CAPTAIN OTOBONG EFFIONG RETURNS TO TRAINING

Nigeria Professional Football League club, Akwa United, have been handed a major boost ahead of their clash with Kwara United after five players returned to training.
Captain Otobong Effiong, who has been sidelined since Akwa’s matchday 2 fixture against Yobe Desert Stars in Uyo, has overcome an hamstring problem and is in contention to face the newly-promoted side.
Centre-back and vice-captain, Emmanuel Ariwachukwu, also has a chance of returning for Sunday’s game after recovering from illness.
The team  also welcomes back last season’s hitman, Newman Musa, who has also yet to feature for the Uyo side this term.
Also back in the fold are newly-signed duo, Etiboy Akpan and Otegbeye Ajibola.
Akpan is nearing match fitness after his recovery from the hamstring injury he sustained during preseason training, while Ajibola — who suffered a knee injury three weeks ago– has started personal training and  is expected to regain full fitness in two weeks.
