EMENALO ENDS 10-YEAR STAY AT STAMFORD BRIDGE
Michael Emenalo has quit his role as Chelsea’s director of football, as uncertainty continues to surround the future of coach Antonio Conte.
The Nigerian has resigned from the position he has held since 2007.
No reason has been given for his departure but as per a report by The Daily Telegraph, it has been suggested Emenalo does not want to be involved in a three-way power play with Conte and director Marina Granovskaia, whose relationship turned sour during Chelsea’s frustrating summer transfer window.
Emenalo, though, could return to football soon following interest from Ligue 1giants Monaco, according to Independent.
During the 52-year-old’s reign, Chelsea won the Premier League title three times, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the
Europa League and the Champions League.
