NFF HOPE TO CONVINCE TAMMY ABRAHAM TO PLAY FOR SUPER EAGLES

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are hoping to convince London born Chelsea loanee, Tammy Abraham whose full name is Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abrahams to play for the Super Eagles. 
Abraham has featured nine times for the England U21 side, but he is eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.
The 19-year old forward, who is currently on loan at Swansea City, has impressed so far this season, scoring his first Premier League goal in a 2-0 away win over Crystal Palace last month.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) first expressed an interest in convincing the teenage forward to switch his international allegiance in July 2016, following his successful loan spell at Championship side Bristol City, where he scored 26 goals in 48 games.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, who has noticed Abraham’s progress, hopes that his friendship with the striker’s father can convince him to declare for the Super Eagles.
“We are working on getting Abraham.
“Tammy is like my son. His father and I grew up in the same neighbourhood.
“So when they talk about him, I just laugh because I know what to do,”  said Pinnick.
Former England youth players who have switched their allegiance to Nigeria include Alex Iwobi, Sone Aluko, Shola Ameobi and Tammy’s fellow Chelsea players, Victor Moses and Ola Aina .
Nigeria are currently leading the CAF World Cup qualifying group B with ten points from four matches, followed by Zambia with seven points. Cameroon are third with three points, leaving Algeria at the bottom with a point.
A win over Chipolopolo of Zambia by the Super Eagles in October, will guarantee their place in Russia next summer.
