LEICESTER MOVE FOR NIGERIAN STAR NDIDI
LEICESTER CITY MOVE FOR NIGERIAN STAR NDIDI
English Premier League club Leicester City have reportedly launched a £15.5m swoop for Genk sensation Wilfred Ndidi.
Belgian news outlet HLN claim the Foxes have tabled the bumper bid as they look to bolster their squad in January.
It’s suggested Manchester United scout Roland Janssen discovered Ndidi, but the Premier League champions have seized the initiative.
Despite being only 19-year-old, Ndidi has established himself as a key player for Genk.
The versatile star can also be deployed in defence and midfield.
Chelsea and Tottenham were linked with a swoop in the summer, but a move didn’t materialise.
Claudio Ranieri might face an uphill battle if he wants to land the coveted ace.
Genk are demanding £21.5m to part with their prized asset.
Genk bigwig Dimitri De Conde has conceded they might lose Wilfred Ndidi
However, the club’s technical director Dimitri De Conde, has admitted they might struggle to keep hold of him.
He said: “Ndidi and [team-mate Leon] Bailey have indicated that they want to stay until the end of the season.
“But suppose there comes a megabid, it is very difficult to keep them here.”
