NPFL TRANSFERS: DAYO OJO RETURNS TO SUNSHINE STARS, THANKGOD CLEARED
Dayo Ojo has returned from his stint in Sudan and re-signed for Sunshine Stars.
The NPFL club announced the return of their academy alumnus and the signing of Durand Gerald in what has been a busy mid-season transfer window for the team ahead of the second stanza of the season on Twitter.
Midfielder cum striker, Ojo rejoined the Akure Gunners after returning from Sudanese top flight side, Al Merrick, while well-travelled Beninois defender, Durand Thuram signed with the club after his spell with Mauritanian outfit, Curepipe Starlight SC.
Seun Olulayo- another academy product of the club- as well as Cameroonian defender Isaac Hele Hele also re-signed for the Akure side. Olulayo switched to Austin Eguavoen’s side from Abia Warriors, while Hele made the move from Elkanemi Warriors.
Eguavoen has also recruited Michael Okoyoh, Jolly Osas, Ezekiel Thompson and Ebitimi Agogo.
Okoyoh joins from Abia Warriors, Osas penned a deal with the club after leaving Enugu Rangers, Thompson was captured from Wikki Tourists F.C., while Agogo moved to the side from Shooting Stars.
Defender Ike Thankgod, who has not featured for any club since the start of the season owing to clearance issues, completed his switch to the club from Eyimba.
The transfer window has also seen some players move away from the club. The biggest name in the list of departures is arguably goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke, who has signed for high-flying Akwa United).
Other big-name departures include Ayo Saka and Samad Quadri. Saka is now with CAF Confederation Cup campaigners, Rivers United, while Quadri left the club for Lobi Stars.
