Umar Danlami appointed Dakkada coach after Caleb Esu departure

Coach Umar Kwasau and Dakkada chairman, Aniedi Dickson, unveil the new Dakkada away jersey

Umar Danlami Kwasau has been named Dakkada Football Club head coach, following the departure of Caleb Esu.
The former Delta Force boss has signed a contract that will see him take charge of the Uyo club until the end of the season.
He takes over from Esu, who left the club after his deal came to an end last season.

Danlami will lead the former Nigeria National League champions’ training for the first time on Friday, as they continue preparations for Sunday’s opening-day league game against city rivals Akwa United.
The two sides — who both play their home matches at Godswill Akpabio Stadium — met twice last season in the league, with Akwa United winning the first leg while the return leg ended in a draw.
Having seen most of their stars leave for other Nigeria Professional Football League clubs in recent months, many regard Danlami’s new side as one of the relegation candidates.
The club’s top marksman last season, Femi Ajayi, has joined Enugu Rangers; while Imo Obot, as well as Somiari Alalibo have departed for Enyimba.
Also, Osimaga Duke has moved to Lobi Stars.
