VETERAN GOALKEEPER MWEENE ARRIVES CHIPOLOPOLO CAMP
Chipolopolo captain, Kennedy Mweene, and Chisamba Lungu have joined the Zambia national team camp in Accra. Mweene and Turkey-based midfielder, Chisamba Lungu – who are part of the team heading for a morning workout at the Marcel Desailly Sports Complex – joined on Monday evening.
With the arrival of the duo, the number of foreign-based players in the Zambia training camp now stands at six.
Team manager, Chris Chibuye, revealed that only three players – Patson Daka (Red Bull Salzburg-Austria), Enock Mwepu (FC Liefering) and Edward Chilufya (Djurgardens-Sweden) – have yet to arrive.
Mwepu and Chilufya will join from Accra, while Daka will team up with his colleagues in Abuja on Wednesday.
Zambia play Nigeria in a Group B Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup match in Uyo on Saturday.
The Super Eagles top the group, having picked 10 points from a possible 12; while Zambia are second on seven points.
