Rivers United drawn against Ivoirien giants in Confederation Cup

Rivers United will face CΓ΄te d’Ivoire heavyweights ASEC Mimosas in the group stages of the 2022-23 Confederation Cup.
Stanley Eguma’s men have been drawn in Group B alongside the Abidjan side, Republic of Congo’s Diables Noirs and DR Congo side Moteme Pembe.
The Nigerian champions, who overcame Libyan outfit Al Nasr β after being eliminated from the Champions League by Wydad Casablanca β to reach the group stages, will kick off their campaign with a trip to last season’s Congo Ligue 1 runners-up Diables Noir on February 12.

Now the only Nigerian club left on the continent, the Blues will be looking to secure qualification for the quarter-finals.
And having brought in some good players in the last three months, many believe they have enough quality to challenge for the Nigeria Professional Football League title again.
