Victor Osimhen the hero as Napoli beat Torino to return to Serie A summit

Victor Osimhen scored the only goal of the game as Napoli beat Torino 1-0 at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday to maintain their perfect start to the season in Serie A.
The Nigeria international rose highest to head home late on to hand Luciano Spalletti’s side a well-deserved win, which helped them reclaim top spot from AC Milan.
The matchday kicked off on Saturday with Napoli topping the table by two points, but
Milan temporarily dislodged them after coming from 2-0 down to defeat Verona 3-2 on Saturday.

However, Osimhen’s dramatic winner — which sparked scenes of wild celebrations — ensured Gli Azzuri returned to the summit.
Captain Lorenzo Insigne had a chance to put the home side ahead when they were awarded a penalty in the 26th minute, but his poor spot-kick was kept out by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
Eight minutes after the break, Giovanni di Lorenzo nodded in a free-kick. His celebrations, though, were cut short — with VAR chalking off his strike for offside.
On 63 minutes, Napoli went close again — this time through Hirving Lozano — but were denied by the upright.
And barely four minutes later, there could have been a goal at the other end. Josip Brekalo got past three Napoli defenders and created shooting space for himself, but David Ospina produced a nice save to deny the Croatia international and The Parthenopeans survived the scare.
Napoli didn’t stop pushing. They kept on pressing and pressing and it was a matter of time before their persistence paid off.
With nine minutes of normal time left, Kalidou Koulibaly started a move and after some neat passes, there was panic inside the away team’s box. A clearance then rebounded off Elif Elma’s chest. Osimhen got to it first and headed in.
The strike took the 22-year-old’s league goal tally to five and seven in all competitions this season.
