Nigeria star Oghenekaro Etebo seals loan move to Watford

 

Stoke City midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has joined Watford on a one-year deal, which includes an option to make the signing permanent.
Capped 38 times by the Nigeria senior men’s team, Etebo moved to Stoke City from Portuguese club Feirense in 2018.
After a year-and-a-half at Bet365 Stadium, he was sent out on loan to Spanish side, Getafe and later, Galatasaray, where he made 24 appearances in all competitions.
Following the expiry of his loan deal at Galatasaray, Etebo, 25, was linked with a number of clubs outside England, but he has now sealed a deal to Vicarage Road.
“Peter Etebo joins the Hornets on a season-long loan from Stoke City, with an option to buy,” Watford announced.
He becomes the second Nigerian to move to the English Premier League club this summer, following the arrival of Emmanuel Dennis two weeks ago.
His deal brings the number of Nigerians at the club to five.
Before the acquisition of Etebo and Dennis, the newly-promoted club had already had Super Eagle stars William Troost-Ekong and Isaac Success, as well as former Nigeria U20 international Dele Bashiru in their ranks.
