Simeon Nwankwo moves to top of scorers chart as Crotone secure promotion to Serie A

Nigeria striker Simeon Nwankwo now leads the Serie B goalscoring charts after netting twice on Friday to help Crotone come from behind and claim a 5-1 victory at Livorno.
With just two games left to play, Nwankwo tops the charts with 20 goals — one more than Perugia’s Iemmello Pietro.
The former Gil Vicente player scored his first of the evening in the 35th minute — four minutes after Zanellato Niccolo had cancelled Trovato Mattia’s 12th-minute opener.
Further goals by Alberto Gerbo and Molina Salvatore increased the Sharks’ lead to 4-1, before Nwankwo put the game beyond the hosts with a penalty just before the hour mark.

With fellow automatic-promotion chasers Spezia and Pordenone playing out draws, the Grecians have been confirmed as runners-up — and will play in the Serie A next season.
Giovanni Stroppa’s team are returning to the top division after two years in Serie B, alongside champions Benevento, who were declared Serie B winners two weeks ago — having opened a 20-point gap at the top of the table with six games left at the time.
Both clubs were relegated from the Serie A at the end of the 2017-18 season.
