Ujah, Abdullahi net in Union Berlin’s final-day win over Düsseldorf

Anthony Ujah and Suleiman Abdullahi were both on target, as Union Berlin wrapped up their first-ever Bundesliga campaign with a 3-0 win at home to Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday to clinch an 11th-placed finish in the final standings.
Ujah set Urs Fischer’s side on the path to victory after 26 minutes with a close-range finish following a melee before turning provider, setting up Christian Gentner with a defence-splitting pass to fire home from the edge of the box early in the second half.
His compatriot Abdullahi put the game beyond the visitors in the final minute — with his first-ever Bundesliga goal — when he slotted home from close range after receiving a pass from Gentner.
The result consigned Düsseldorf to automatic relegation from the Bundesliga.
Abdullahi, who came on in the second half, was making his sixth appearance for the club he joined from Eintracht Braunschweig in 2018, before making the deal permanent in 2019.
The 23-year-old former Elkanemi striker has missed much of the season through injury.
Ujah, by contrast, has stayed fit all season.
Capped seven times by Nigeria, Ujah has struggled in front of goal since making a return to German football last summer, after leaving Chinese side Liaoning Whowin.
He scored three goals in 24 Bundesliga matches for Die Eisernen.
Both Nigerians have two years left on their current contracts at the club.
