GHANAIAN GOALKEEPER AKURUGU JOINS RIVERS UNITED
Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Samuel Akurugu has moved to Nigerian Premier League side Rivers United.
Ghanaian outlet Footballghana report that the 23-year old has signed a two-year contract with the Port Harcourt outfit after terminating his contract with the Accra giants.
Akurugu joined Hearts at the start of the 2016/17 season from Sekondi Hasaacas but following a frustrating time at the Accra club, where he failed to establish himself as a first choice, the goalkeeper has decided to seek first-team football elsewhere.
And reports emerging from the Ghanaian press suggest that he has penned a deal with Nigerian top flight league side Rivers United.
