EMENIKE HOPEFUL OF SUCCESS AT LA PALMAS

Las Palmas’ new singing, Emmanuel Emenike, admits the La Liga is a tough league but is optimistic of scoring goals for the Gran Canaria side.
The Nigerian signed for the Spanish club from Greek side Olympiakos on transfer deadline and was presented to club faithful on Friday morning.
“It is a very demanding league but I trust in myself and I want to bring out the best in me to Las Palmas,” said the former Spartan Moscow striker.
Emenike, 30, has not played since October 28 due to injury. He has overcome the injury, though, and looks forward to playing for his new club.

“I have not played for a while because of an injury, but now I feel good.”
La Union Deportiva are currently second from bottom. They’re in dire need of a consistent goalscorer, having scored just 16 goals in 21 games — the poorest in the league.
Despite failing to score since the start of the campaign, Emenike — who  had a stint with West Ham two seasons ago — is hopeful of a good form in front of goal.
“I know goals will come, I do not want to say an exact number.”
The African Cup of Nations winner could be in line to make his debut when Paco Jemèz’s side hosts bottom team Malaga on Monday.

Asked about the prospect of playing on Monday, he said: “It depends on the coach, I feel good to play.”
