AREMU JOINS IK START

Afeez Aremu has completed his move to Norwegian club IK Start.

The former Rivers United midfielder joins the Kristiansand-based club on a three-year contract from Ghanaian side Inter Allies.
He was presented during half-time of the club’s home match with Fløy.
During the presentation, Start Sporting Director, Tor-Kristian Karlsen, expressed his delight at securing the signature of the Nigerian.
“We are delighted that Afeez Aremu is finally ready for [IK] Start. The player was first noted by Mick Priest during the WAFU Championship this fall and since then he has also been involved in the A national team of Nigeria in the World Cup qualifier. We hope this young man can be a solid boost in the midfield,” he said.
Aremu, 18, was a key figure in Akwa United’s midfield last season. He  helped the club win the Aiteo Cup.
In December, the player signed for Allies after leaving the Promise Keepers, where he was playing on loan from Westerloo Football Academy.
He arrives Start without kicking a ball for Allies.
“It’s a dream to get to Start. I have never been to Europe before. Now I look forward to getting started, ” the player said.
