UDECHUKWU NOMINATED FOR PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD
League Bloggers Awards organizers have announced the four-man shortlist for the NPFL Player of the Month award for April.
Among those nominated is Katsina United forward Chinedu Udechukwu, whose goals in April have helped the debutants climb to 11th position on the table.
Katsina United scored four goals in the month of April and Udechukwu accounted for 75 percent of them.
The giant striker, who scored the winning goal in the home win over Enyimba, says he’s delighted with the attention his performances have attracted.
“I am overwhelmed. It is a thing of joy and I’m very excited about it,” he said.
“I am happy because I have been recognised by the lovers and watchers of the game.”
Akwa United midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim also features after helping his side edge closer to the top four.
The tall player, who has impressed since joining from Wikki Tourists, scored four goals in the month under review. The goals include a hat-trick against Shooting Stars and the opener in the 2-0 win over second-placed MFM FC.
Also nominated are Nasarawa United’s Yinka Onaolapo and Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu.
