RUBEN TARGETS MAXIMUM POINTS
NWPL club Ibom Angels departed Uyo today ahead of Saturday’s league game in Abeokuta, where they will tackle Tokas Queens in one of the Week 3 fixtures.
Speaking to 234football shortly before her side’s departure, striker Charity Ruben revealed that the Uyo team is poised to garner maximum points against their opponents.
The powerful forward, who broke into the Ibom Angels first team last season, promised to improve on her 8-goals haul last season.
“In two matches i have played this season, my performances were very good. In the last match i played very well. Last season i scored 4 in the league and 4 in the FA Cup. This season i want to score like 15 goals. I have aleady delivered 3 in the FA Cup,” she said.
She also revealed that the management of the Whyte Ogbonda’s side have promised to clear outstanding wages immediately they returned from the trip.
“They (management) gave us only February salary, and the commissioner of Youth and Sports has told us when we come back, we will get March salaries, and the remaining (April and May).”
The striker declared that they won’t allow the salary issue to affect their focus ahead of the game.
